Been here a handful of times and we used to love the food and service here. Although went again last week and it just isn’t the same. We sat in the lounge, which we have done plenty of times. Music was good. Atmosphere was also fun but the service was very slow. I understand right now there is labor shortage, but the amount of employees that were there, they had enough. The drinks are not what they used to be. The prices have increased and not worth it in my opinion. I have had a better experience for the same Price or cheaper.But the food is still decent and delicious. Just wish it was what we remembered it to be! Maybe better luck next time!

I have never been to Samudhra before but I had heard reviews from friends, so I decided to try it last night. I am now mad at myself for not going there sooner!! The food was plentiful and delicious - such a great value, and the staff was extremely friendly and our food arrived quickly. Lots of comfortable seating and delicious desserts too - overall I am so glad I found a new favorite restaurant in New Jersey!

Food is great but the service is very poor. Phone order for pickup gets diverted to some specialist in other country to which not knowing what’s available at restaurant person will make you wait on the phone.( why not to have someone take order who is actually present at restaurant to save time?). I ordered to go and they told me it would take them 25-30min to have my order ready but they made me wait for over an hour. They kept telling me 5 more min every time I asked. Definitely need some punctuality. Lot of upgrades have been done to this place. They also require casual formal attire.

I had the best experience ever. The food was delicious and very worth the price. The drinks were incredible too. The manager was very sweet in seating us and taking care of us. People were very appropriately dressed and it was a great and lavish experience over all. Definitely recommend going there. The reservations helped because the restaurant is always packed. But totally worth the wait. They earned themselves a devoted customer.

We have been regulars since it’s inception! This is by far the best Indian restaurant in USA! I have had Indian food in Texas, DC, California, Connecticut and NYC. Few of them had Michelin Stars too! For a foodie like me quantity is superb, the taste is totally authentic and amazing, the cocktails are simply outstanding. Their entire menu is one of a kind. Last but not the least, they have same quality and quantity standards for take out options as well. No cheating there! Ambience, oh well, just go and check out. Words fail to describe this place. I have been going to this place since it's inception and writing the review now after years, to ensure nothing is lost. The service staff work like they are the management. Now, that speaks something about this place, ain't it? Try it you wont regret.

Wow!! What an amazing place to dine in and spend some quality time with friends and valued guests. The ambience is the best amongst all Indian Restaurants I have visited in New Jersey. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious sitting both indoor and outdoor and an eclectic array of super delicious Indian gourmet cuisine. You just cant go wrong with the food and amazing variety of drinks at Samudhra. Friendly and well trained staff and excellent management by the owner Mr. Mangesh. A must visit for dine in or take out for all the food lovers of New Jersey. By far, beats many hyped New York restaurants when it comes to food and ambience. I highly recommend Samudhra.

This is not your regular ‘Indian restaurant’. This is a mix of Classic Indian food, Eclectic Cocktails in a modern exuberant ambiance.It’s clear the owners have put in lot of effort to be different. So you should try this place. Calling ahead is good idea. Everything we tried out was good. Will be back exactly for food, cocktails and the ambiance.

Finally we have an Indian restaurant which we can classify as 5 star. Great food, great ambience and very decent professional staff. This is definitely not the run of the mill Indian restaurants that you see in NJ. The owners have put a lot of thought and care to serve with style and class. The food is exceptional too. I will not be searching for a different restaurant in NJ.

We stumbled upon Samudhra last minute as the original Indian restaurant we picked was so dirty! We are so so glad because we loved the food and the outdoor dining. The inside decor is also so pretty, they picked great colors for the ambience, restrooms are clean, silverware, glasses and tables clean! Loved that there was a dress code!! The drinks are wonderful and the customer service is fantastic. Managers checked on us multiple times and the hostess was very pleasant and polite. Our servers, Imran and Kat were great, engaging, polite and smiled! They made our overall experience enjoyable. I especially loved the hostess that greeted us at the table with water and papad until the servers got there - big plus for me! Never make guests sit and wait. Our check took some time and the manager came out with it to apologize for delay, was no problem at all but was so polite that she did. Highly recommend this place - looking forward to our next visit here to dine inside. It maybe pricey but it’s quality! Being a restaurant manager previously, it’s a habit to notice things and they are doing absolutely brilliant.

Chef’s prepared food very delicious, bartenders prepared drink very well with so many choices and our server Sunny was excellent and explained each dish and suggested famous dish. One thing noticed is quantity of food is in large portions so could not finish all which is plus+++++. Strongly recommend to spend your evening with loved ones.

This place deserves more than 5 stars!!! We had an get together here a few days ago, we sat in the lounge. There very quite a few people in our party. The manager Jyoti was the best, she went above and beyond to ensure that every one of us was catered too, the servers were attentive. Honestly this isn’t the first time I have been to this place, I have visited regularly and every time it exceeds the expectations. Nevertheless, no need to mention the food, drinks and presentation is the best there is around. It’s seem the management are really passionate about what they are doing. Good job

The food was awesome. Speed and accuracy of order was great. Ambience was very nice and our attendant Shayaan really took care of us. He was very attentive and courteous. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good quality Indian food. Although the dress code is business casuals; no flip flops, no pajamas, most of the people sitting there had flip flops on. That looked very weird. Management should either change their policy or enforce it.

The food & the service was fabulous! My friend recommended it but it was my first time here. We had a price fix meal which included appetizer, entrée & dessert. Otherwise, it is very pricey. The waiter we had, Sid, was excellent! He even acknowledged my happiness by bringing me am extra dessert! So thoughtful! I will definitely be back!

Have come here more than a dozen times in the past year. Probably the most top notch Indian food in the area- if not NJ. Super friendly staff, very accommodating, excellent cocktails and very diverse menu. Very excited and impressed by its presence in the area. Can’t wait to keep coming back!

My first visit I had a really good experience. The food was great, ambience is good, service was phenomenal as well. Trusting this, I invited few more guest for eid dinner here, man that was a mistake. The food wasn’t good at all. Especially compared to the first visit. Had to return one dish and also had to change the water glasses. But the customer service was really good, manager walked up and apologized. Staff is polite. I would give only 2 star for the food the second time and 5 star for service and ambience.

Amazing restaurant. We had lunch in the Lounge. The decor and ambience is great and the food is absolutely fantastic.We ordered the Veg Thaali and were impressed by the quantity, quality and taste of the food. Even after the heavy and sumptuous meal, we didn't have the typical after feel that one has when you over eat outside food.Definitely recommended

Amazing food & greater service! Each dish had its own creative flavor and even though we don’t drink the drink menu looked tempting & had lots of options! Price paid is definitely for the quantity and quality here! The manager kept making sure we had everything we asked for even if server was unable to, amazing work on their behalf!

Awesome experience!! It’s just not the ambience the dinning, the facilities but the services and the food no words exceptional. I will not be wrong if I say the entire Samudhra team is gem of people starting right over from the receptionist at the entrance to the chef deep down in the kitchen to the receptionist. Their entire staff is superb. We had been lucky enough to got a chance to have a dine-in opportunity yesterday late evening w/o prior reservation, no doubt we were very impressed with the excellent services right from the greetings at their doorsteps to our seating at the table but the table services were top class and I really like to highlight Ryan who always make us feel comfortable and not only answered out our queries but understand us better and provided great suggestions as per our choices. Last but not the least their food is mind blowing!!! It’s an Awe Factor!! You should try at least once!! I bet no one will ever regret, the unmatched level of taste and the quality of food they serve!! Superb!!Next I am pretty sure... if the restaurant keep maintaining the benchmark they have setup we will see lot many more new stories here...

I went there on my wife's birthday with my family for lunch and they have the best food. The quality is and taste is so good that we order more food for next day. Also, when they came to know about my wife's birthday they surprise us with their one of the best dessert for her and all the staff members came together and sang birthday song. Visited this place for my best friend’s birthday. The hospitality was awesome and the food was very tasty. Best place if you are looking for a fine dining. Purple sapphire was the best cocktails I ever had in the recent times. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Cutting one star for the prices.

I’ve been here twice and the place seems over hyped . The two stars are for the ambience and the service. Great service each time I visited. But I decided to write this review to emphasize on the food quality . The taste isn’t what you’d expect at a premium restaurant. The price doesn’t do justice at all. The chicken dishes are like what an average Indian restaurant would serve in the United States.

This is my go to fine dining restaurant. The food is always delicious and so are the drinks. Restaurant itself is very spacious and I feel very safe dining indoors. The decor and vibe of this place is refreshing and calming. The service is amazing and personally recommend Shaiaan. He is the best server there and is very knowledgeable and provides great food and drink recommendations. The management and staff is very nice and friendly. 20/10 would definitely go again.

Absolute best Indian Fusion Lounge Restaurant in New Jersey. Superb management, staff and top class food and ambience. If you have a valued guest or dining out/ordering take out for family, you cant go wrong with Samudhra. The Lounge Bar is very well stocked and serves a wide variety of liquor and food. Oh yes, and the owner Mr. Chinthamaneni is himself a connoisseur of great food and drinks, and takes immense initiative to make Samudhra an experience to remember. Overall, this is by far the best addition to the food scene in this area. Everything about Samudhra is premium. Worth a visit if you haven't yet.

While the food was good and the prices were decent for the quantity, We arrived at the restaurant at around 2:30 pm. We were not told that the main course won’t be served after 3:30 pm. If only someone had given us a heads up, we would have ordered the main course earlier or planned it ahead.We ended having only the appetizers and a dessert.I wanted to come back to the restaurant again since we all liked the food but now I am not so sure as the communication from the staff was very poor to their customers.

Atmosphere and food were amazing. HOWEVER, the service was absolutely terrible. While seated in the lounge for dinner on Valentine's Day, we were given a Bartender as a waitress. We were given very little attention and were not properly attended to at all. We had to constantly call over other servers just to do simple things like order dinner, drinks, and get the check. At 1 point I had called over another waitress to order dinner and she told me she was not our waitress and told us our server was busy cause she was also attending to the bar. I am a paying customer who came to a nice restaurant on a holiday. Everybody elses table was attended to multiple times that night except ours. It seemed that we were the only table being taken care of by a bartender.We had come for a romantic and enjoyable meal, yet we both left very disappointed due to the service.

This Review was long due. The best Indian restaurant in NJ/NY area. What’s Best!!! Ambiance, Quality Food, Taste (Customized as per your taste). The best part is it’s a Management that listen and learns. Every time we are here it exceeds our expectations. Fusion food that covers the best from North to South.Totally forgot the Bar... What can I say. Not an avid drinker ... but the list of desi Cocktails is amazing believe it no bar can beat the list.Cheers to then Management.

Not only was the food delicious, I came across a fabulous bartender, Simran. She was so sweet and recommended the perfect drinks for my friends and I. Unlike some bartenders I’ve had experience with, she was not rude even once and held a fun conversation with us which made our night out more enjoyable. I will definitely come again just for her amazing drinks, and I recommend for those who go to ask for her as well!

Best Indian Food till now in New Jersey among the restaurants! Expensive than other so called famous competitors nearby but, i would choose Samudhra over all!! Its very expensive place. Its not affordable for all sorts of people. Very rich look and ambience. Its definitely more than a restaurant and kind of a lounge type. Food is okay sometimes. Definitely a unique restaurant and much different from the run-of-the-mill food you find at other places. I am not 100% sure who owns the restaurant but the food definitely looks and tastes like the owner / chef has roots from the telugu states in India. You can enjoy much more if you are familiar with Telugu food. One of the very few Indian restaurants that respects your preference in terms of spiciness, without letting you down on the taste. We eat mild / medium at home and they met our expectations every time we ordered the food. Little more expensive than other places but definitely worth the price. You will not be disappointed. One suggestion for the owner - once every month or two, try to introduce a new menu item. That will help the repeat customers who may have tried most of the items on the menu.

The outdoor ambience was lovely. Well lit and the heaters worked well. The lycee martini was outstanding. The mango lassi was very delicious.However, food wise, they were unable to fulfill the entree order twice and we settled for our third choice. The portions were rather small and the prices were rather high. The shrimp dish we order contained shrimp that were telescopic and very hard to find. The chicken dish had 3 small pieces of chicken. We also ordered our food to be mild and it was quite spicy. We should have sent it back but we so much time trying to find something on the menu that they had.

If this doesn't remind me of my grandmother I don't know what else could.. 🙂 I keep going back here for dishes that taste like the pure, clean food from the villages of Andhra and TN.. their cuisine is mostly Telugu food, with a few dishes from Tamil Nadu included as well. This is the food I grew up with and no other restaurant has nailed it so perfectly. I know only one other restaurant in the United States that has high quality south indian food (no, it's not that chain you're thinking of). But the food at Samudhra is not only of the highest quality, it is also extremely authentic -- it's like eating out of my grandma's hands as she fed a toddler (me), sitting next to her in her backyard, chewing every bite of goodness while overlooking the river Godavari. Yepp.. the food brought all those memories back ! I'm 36 now and this place is a cure cos I miss home. In short, just go eat here. You won't regret it. Thanks, Samudhra for the good work.

Loved this place! Food was delicious! Everything so fresh and tasty! The place is beautifully and tastefully decorated, very clean (the staff was constantly sanitizing the tables both inside and outside). The service was just right: very attentive but not too intrusive. Definitely our new favorite place to enjoy Indian food!

Ambiance, Service, Drinks and Food all get 5 stars. Excellent service ! I went to dine in last night and I’m a vegan I had to pretty much make up my own meal , the manager Jyoti brought it to life . She spoke directly with the chef about the modifications I needed and made my meal come to life . Thank you again for the great service . I’ll be back !

What an unexpected gem of a place! First time here. Came with a few friends. Service, the food, pricing, menu variety, and cleanliness were on point! We had 3 different appetizers, naan, roti, 3 different meats. Even the simplest biryani was great.Well worth many visits in the future. Outdoor seating is open and covered well. Inside ambience is classy. Bathroom was very chic too.Definitely recommend!

I think the most Elegant restaurant in NJ. Excellent customer service. Price is also reasonable because quantity of food is almost double than other Indian restaurants. Food is also very delicious. They have unlimited Thali in lunch.

Update:Went back again this week for Lunch. The outdoor seating is really nice and private. We had a few different appetizers and let me tell you, they have the best and most flavorful food in the entire NJ. 👏I have been here a few times now. It’s one of the most elegant restaurants in NJ. They also have a beautiful Bar/Lounge. The food is one of the best Indian foods I have had at any Indian restaurant. You can definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients and the quality. Even the staff is really pleasant to deal with. The manager Jyoti kept coming and checking up on us to make sure we were having a great experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. They are a little pricier than the restaurants in the area but worth every penny. 👌

Nice South Indian restaurant to have any type of event. We ended up having a private birthday party with 20 people and ended up getting the side section completely. Food was def great and they def put effort into making this restaurant elegant. I'll def be coming here again and would also recommend the spot to others
